I'm GRADUATED!

I officially have my Bachelor of Arts in English and Physical Education! Yesterday at 2:00pm I walked across the stage at the Port Theatre in Nanaimo and received my Degree. One down, one to go! The next time I walk across that stage will be on December 14, 2007. I will be receiving my Education degree! That's right, I will have TWO degrees! I can't wait to be done. I start school again on Aug 20th for 7 weeks of classes and 6 weeks of practicum. Can't wait, can't wait, can't wait to be done!

First Day of Work....ok Play!

So today was my first day as a nanny. The day started off at 8:00 am with some toy playing. The rest of the day consisted of naps, snacks, lunch, toys, outside time, and cartoons! Not too shabby! Tomorrow is the first time I take the oldest one to play school. Should throw an interesting twist to the day. Maybe we'll even make it to the park tomorrow.

I was a little upset last night, being in a new place and having all the responsibility, but I'm feeling a bit better today.

Hope tomorrow is fun!
Toodles :-)

4 More days of Practicum!!!

I am counting down the days until this high school practicum of mine is DONE! Not that I don't enjoy my students - I do. I just would rather be with primary aged children - they are sooooo much more fun. They tire me out a lot faster, but it's really worth it :-) I think this week I'm much more relaxed and just going to try and enjoy my last few days with my students and then run as fast as I can out of that high school!

Let the countdown begin: 4, 3, 2, 1.......

My Number One Guy!

This weekend I ventured over to Vancouver to spend time with Tyler - have I mentioned he's the BESTEST BOYFRIEND EVER? We went for sushi with a friend of his that is like a brother to him - it's really nice to meet all of the people that are important to Tyler. It means a lot that he wants me to meet them. After dinner we went for Gilato (two 'Ls' or two 'Ts'?) the ice cream stuff. While we were having ice cream Tyler's brother Dan met up with us with one of his friends. Then it was back to Ty's for some drinks and a pathetic attempt to play scatergories - was it scatergories? On Saturday we went to Ikea and Richmond Centre - Ty needed a new digital camera so he could take pictures of.....ME! haha. Then we had a lovely dinner made specially by my very own private chef - Tyler Cairns :) Today we had a lazy morning and then went for a walk along the sea wall. And to finish off our day we watched the movie Borat - it was rude, but very entertaining!

I miss Tyler more than he will ever know, but I know I'll see him in 4 days :-) I just absolutely love spending time with him - nothing is ever boring when I'm with him.

Thanks Ty for another incredible weekend!

Gettin' busy in the kitchen!

Yesterday and today I have been busy in the kitchen! I made homemade ravioli (the ravioli dough was made with roasted red pepper puree) and the stuffing was made with ricotta cheese, parsely, spinach, and herb and garlic cream cheese - yum yum!
Then I made 16 mini banana loaves! I used the tray with the mini sized loaf pans and they are so cute! I have already put a little care package together for my boy to take back home with him to put in his lunches!

Well, that's all that's happening today...enjoying my last few days off before practicum starts on Monday :-(

Oh, 2 more sleeps til I see my man!!!! Soooooo excited to see him!

My 4 day weekend in Vancouver with the BESTEST boyfriend EVER!

So I headed off to Vancouver on Thursday to see Tyler- here is the itinerary of the weekend.
Thursday: Hung out at his place and watched the hockey game. He made me dinner which was pork chops, the best herb and garlic potatoes you could ever imagine and a salad full of great veggies!
Friday: Tyler had a test to write first thing so he went off to accomplish that while I took my time getting ready for the day. He came home and announced we were heading to Science World! We couldn't have picked a better time to go as they had an exhibit on how Purdy's Chocolates are made - yum yum! We then headed for lunch at Cactus Club on Robson and did some shopping - how can you not on Robson!?!? That evening he made me another fantastic meal of fettuchini alfredo with cherry tomatoes, green peppers and asparagus - and watched a movie.
Saturday: I needed a light jacket to go with my fancy clothes for dinner that night so Tyler was a good sport and let me go shopping :-) He had made reservations at the Grouse Mountain Observatory for dinner that evening so I had to be looking spiffy! So we got all dressed up, jumped on the Grouse Mt. tram and road to the top for a VERY fancy dinner :-) After dinner we relaxed for a bit at his place and then headed downtown to meet up with another couple in which I knew the guy from work and he knew the girl from high school - we had drinks at an Irish Pub called Doolins - it was a great way to end our evening out.
Sunday: We slept in, were a bit lazy and then he took me for brunch at this cute little place in North Van called Tommy's. They had a great breakfast selection and their were so many people waiting for a table they had a list going - oh and they only have about 8 tables in the tiny place. After that we visited with his brother and his girlfriend and spent the rest of our day just hanging out together, enjoying our time together and going over how much fun we had had together :-)

So that was my fantabulous weekend with Tyler and I can't wait to see him on Friday when he comes home ;-) I just can't get enough of him - he's the best! We both think we are the more lucky one to have each other - but really I think I'm the luckiest!

Sorry if that just made you wanna vomit! But he really is an incredible guy - I gotta give him credit! He's so thoughtful, and he keeps me in stitches - as do I with him - so it's a great combo we got goin' on! :-)

Ok, I'll stop there....I promise I will take a picture of us this weekend so I can share it!
