I did it! I picked a new blog template!!! And I'm quite happy with it's sophistication! I LOVE it! Now if I'd only use it more often ;-)
This summer has been fantastic! I have NOT worked so that means each and every day is MINE! I am still mooching off my parents so that I can save save save for a house or condo :) So along with mooching I get the privilege of spending my days at the lake we live on! My mom is a school secretary so she also has summers off and we spend our days basking in the sun, swimming and visiting. It's a rough life. I have been busy with friends as well - the girls try to get together at least once a week and now one of my girls has a brand new baby boy so we let him join in the girl time ;-) Two of my girlfriends and I hosted a baby shower for her on the weekend and it went splendid! Maybe that can be the next post :)
In other news I'm no longer a single gal :) but I am afraid to blog about him or how great he is for fear it will jinx it hehehe. One day you shall learn of him :)
This coming up weekend my brother is coming home from Edmonton to visit!!! He hasn't been home in a year!!! We are all very excited! We are going boating and having a BBQ and just anything fun we can cram into his week long visit!
Even though I'm loving having my summer free, I'm a leetle bit ready to get paid again for doing what I love - TEACHING!!!
Hope you're all having a happy summer!

Quick Trip...
I left Friday evening on a flight to Edmonton to visit my big brother! He just moved into his own basement suite and needed some furniture so I spent his money picking out things he needed :) It was fun. He showed me around the big city, we went to West Edmonton Mall for a short time - I've been there before, and we also went to the outlet stores (Guess and Mexx to name a few). I just love outlet stores. I returned on Sunday evening and was pretty tired.
We had a great visit and a lot of fun together - I can't wait to go back because I miss him every day!
I took some pictures from the plane which look really cool - have a peek!

Family, Sun, Friends, Cold drinks and Fun!
Well I figured I should post something new, but I don't have a lot to report.
Saturday was my Gramma's birthday party here - she is 74! It was a nice gathering of family that included swimming in the lake, BBQ and alcoholic beverages ;) Gram's even stayed until 9pm!!!
Sunday I went to the waterslides in Victoria with my friends and had a blast! It was like being a kid again. Good times had by all :)
That brings us to today - Monday. The family and I were going to go boating and tubing, but everyone was kinda feeling lazy so that idea will be put off until another weekend.
Hope everyone who had a long weekend has enjoyed their extra time off :) Happy fun in the sun!!!

Celebration of Light Fireworks!
Last night Tyler and I went to Kits Beach to watch the Celebration of Light Fireworks! It was amazing. We got there around 7:30 and got a pretty sweet spot close to the water on the sand. We were right infront of the barge so it was great! We brought a picnic dinner and just relaxed on the beach - the time flew by way too fast. We are going to go next Wednesday which I believe is China and last night was Spain.
Here are some pictures :)

Long Weekend!
I had a very busy long weekend. Friday night started with a "Mill Party" - this is a party that my Dad's work puts on and it's down on the ocean and there is great food, a live band (That's 70's Band) and cheap booze ;) Then Saturday I was asked to play in an orthodox softball tournament as the team was short girls. So I played in two games - even made a double play!
Sunday and Monday is when the real fun happened! I caught the 10:30 am boat over to Vancouver to have my handsome man pick me up. We started off with lunch at a pub in Horseshoe Bay - met a VERY friendly man from Ireland! Then we headed back to Ty's place for a dip in the pool - so refreshing. We decided to head to the grocery store to get some ingredients for what was to be a lovely dinner made by Ty and dessert by me! I made a peach crumble...and Ty, ofcourse out does me all the time, he made a pasta with pesto sauce, asparagas, tomatoes, prawns and then on the side he made wicked garlic mushrooms and garlic bread! Wow! The man can cook!
We then put our warmer clothes on and grabbed the blanket to head down to the waterfront for FIREWORKS! I had such a great time just laying around with Ty just chatting and being silly - the best way to be :) I loved that night :)
Side note: what I didn't love about that night was the stupid Canada Day tatoo I ripped off my face and took my skin with it!!!! Yeah, wedding on Saturday and I have a huge scab on my face! Not impressed!
Monday was also VERY fun. Ty told me to pack up and we were off...I guessed about 5 minutes later where we were headed (cause I'm soooo S-M-R-T!) We went to this place out in Abbotsford called Castle Fun Park. We went in the batting cages, played mini-golf (I won - hahaha sorry Ty) and we played the silly games inside that spit out tickets if you do well - I think we all know what I'm referring to? Then we headed back out to Tswwassen to the beach and I took him for dinner at Alfa's, a Greek restaurant.
I really enjoyed myself - minus the tatoo incident!
Thanks for the fun Ty!

My 4 day weekend in Vancouver with the BESTEST boyfriend EVER!
So I headed off to Vancouver on Thursday to see Tyler- here is the itinerary of the weekend.
Thursday: Hung out at his place and watched the hockey game. He made me dinner which was pork chops, the best herb and garlic potatoes you could ever imagine and a salad full of great veggies!
Friday: Tyler had a test to write first thing so he went off to accomplish that while I took my time getting ready for the day. He came home and announced we were heading to Science World! We couldn't have picked a better time to go as they had an exhibit on how Purdy's Chocolates are made - yum yum! We then headed for lunch at Cactus Club on Robson and did some shopping - how can you not on Robson!?!? That evening he made me another fantastic meal of fettuchini alfredo with cherry tomatoes, green peppers and asparagus - and watched a movie.
Saturday: I needed a light jacket to go with my fancy clothes for dinner that night so Tyler was a good sport and let me go shopping :-) He had made reservations at the Grouse Mountain Observatory for dinner that evening so I had to be looking spiffy! So we got all dressed up, jumped on the Grouse Mt. tram and road to the top for a VERY fancy dinner :-) After dinner we relaxed for a bit at his place and then headed downtown to meet up with another couple in which I knew the guy from work and he knew the girl from high school - we had drinks at an Irish Pub called Doolins - it was a great way to end our evening out.
Sunday: We slept in, were a bit lazy and then he took me for brunch at this cute little place in North Van called Tommy's. They had a great breakfast selection and their were so many people waiting for a table they had a list going - oh and they only have about 8 tables in the tiny place. After that we visited with his brother and his girlfriend and spent the rest of our day just hanging out together, enjoying our time together and going over how much fun we had had together :-)
So that was my fantabulous weekend with Tyler and I can't wait to see him on Friday when he comes home ;-) I just can't get enough of him - he's the best! We both think we are the more lucky one to have each other - but really I think I'm the luckiest!
Sorry if that just made you wanna vomit! But he really is an incredible guy - I gotta give him credit! He's so thoughtful, and he keeps me in stitches - as do I with him - so it's a great combo we got goin' on! :-)
Ok, I'll stop there....I promise I will take a picture of us this weekend so I can share it!

Another trip up the Mountain...
Anyone own a neckbrace they could lend me? I went boarding yesterday, this time with my brother Scott and his girlfriend Megan. We had a pretty good day but we all had one accident, if you will, each. Me first! Somehow I did a face plant with no warning whatsoever and got really bad whiplash. I'm so stiff in the neck today not even two trips to the hottub are helping. Next was Megan. She hyperextended her elbow - an old injury that hadn't healed fully. Today she is walking around with an ice pack attached to her elbow by a tensor bandage. And finally Scott, we had a little trouble getting on one of the chair lifts - thanks to me getting stuck on a metal thingy prior to loading - and somehow the sharp end of his ski pole pierced his knee and actually bent his ski pole a bit. We looked at his knee at the end of the day and it actually made him bleed - OUCH! So other than those few issues the day went well. We packed a lunch and ate it in the snow, a tail-gate party if you wil :) And I actually have pictures from the day.

A fun day of SNOWBOARDING!!!
So today I headed up the moutain with two of my friends, Kyla and her boyfriend Christopher. They were both experiencing snowboarding for the first time today :) So I was the instructor. Chris was doing pretty good for a beginner...Kyla...umm...well I'll tell ya this, it took us 45 minutes to get down the bunny-hill and one set of tears :( Wahoo we made it the to easy green chair, but uh-oh someone is afraid of heights (not me) no worries we made it to the top....ready Kyla? We're going to get off the chair lift now...WHAMO! And she's down for the count! And here are the tears again...let's go sit down on the bench Kyla. So Chris helps her over to the bench...she then wants to know if there is another way down other than boarding...hahaha Chris says, "yeah, walk!" So Kyla mustered up some courage and was off to a good start. We are almost to the bottom and home free in Kyla's eyes and WHAMO! Yard sale hosted by Kyla! Uh oh...tears again...and she's done! We took a lunch break at that point and Chris and I thought we could convince her to try skiing instead...umm NO! Well, not today anyway...her butt was a bit too sore and well thank goodness she had a helmet on or she would have had a really bad headache to accompany that sore bootie! Kyla was a good sport and let Chris and I hit the slopes for a couple more hours :) Good thing Chris got her the Pink Nintendo DS she begged for :) It kept her entertained! Kyla, I think, was a bit bummed out that she missed out on some fun so she would like to go back up next weekend to try tubing! I think that's a great idea - so tubing on Saturday it shall be! And I know she'll rock at that!!! Just like she's going to rock at skiing when she goes! Oh and incase you're wondering she did get a free day of rentals and lift ticket because she only did one run - wahooo! Well, that's all folks...until my date tomorrow night...he's so cute, already he made us reservations at The Keg :) And asked me when I thought would be a good time...love that...caring what works for me too! Wish me luck, most have been duds lately hehehe.
PS When Kyla sends me some pics I'll finally post something in visual form :) I never think to bring my camera anywhere...I know crazy hey?

Wow! It has been a very busy week! Dad and I had to do some Christmas shopping for Mom on Monday night - that was fun! No really, it was! Tuesday I had my hair done - gotta keep that blonde lookin' bright! Then I cooked and baked for our small Christmas gathering with some friends from school that night. Wednesday, what did that day hold??? Oh yes, lunch with Morgan. I went to high school with Morgan - we were the stars of the basketball team hahaha. So that was nice to catch up with her. Thursday I went to my Mom's school to help with the Grade One class - we made gingerbread houses!!! Then I met up with Gramma and Ken to have lunch! So much fun having lunch dates with those two. We actually got really bad service at this one restuarant so we walked out - Gramma told them what she thought on the way out! Go Gramma! So we went to a great little diner and I had a chocolate milkshake, grilled cheese and onion rings! I felt like a kid again. Then Dad and I were off again to find stocking stuffers for Mom - not the greatest luck. And that brings me to today...I'm still watchin' TV. And I don't feel bad about it. I will go wrap some presents soon and then I am in charge of picking up our turkey - he/she is getting killed as I write. In our house we call the turkey "lurk bird" - don't ask wy, we just do! Makes me laugh though lol. So that has been my crazy week and I'm sure it will only get more crazy in the next few days as Christmas arrives! So exciting! Anywho, I hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season and have a very MERRY CHRISTMAS! Enjoy all that family time!

CRRRAZY DAY!
So today was a very interesting day...it started off with me and my best friend Kyla going to book our trip to West Edmonton Mall for a little Reading Break shopping! Every year that I've been in University reading break has been the thrid week in Feb. Well, since we go back quite a bit later into January for second semester I guess the University thought they should push reading break back a week - not good when you don't check the dates of reading break before you book a flight!!! That's right I totally screwed it up...luckily we realized this within about ten minutes of leaving the travel agent and I booked it back there to plead my case - LOVE WEST JET - they were so nice about it all and moved all our plans back a week :) Phewf! Dodge a doozey there as I am expected to be in classes that week before - and they aren't understanding professors!
So then I leave the travel agent all happy again heading to Starbucks to tell Jenn, the other girl coming with us but is flying on air miles so will be booking her flight separatly, that a catastrophy was avoided! BUT, before I could get there I had an old man start yelling at me through his window of his car, sitting in the lane beside me. I don't know what I did to make him so mad - I really don't? So I gave him a bizzare look and just avoided looking at him...that didn't work...he was really mad....so I luckily I have power windows and pressed the down button on the passenger side window button...Sir you need to stop yelling, you're going to give yourself a heart attack...and with the ease that I opened the window I then shut it again. What is with people?
Then I was headed to Gramma and Ken's...we had a lunch date! Love lunch dates with those two :) While we were enjoying our White Spot meal the mixed rain and snow turned to SNOW and was STICKING! This was NOT in the forecast! Crazy people, crazy weather and crazy amounts of things to get done in town all the while it being 10 days before xmas = a very CRAZY DAY!
